Late maturing grapes

My muscadine grapes always do this - quite a few mature later than the main harvest in early September, but it's still quite a surprise...

They get eaten straight off the vine of course, because the numbers aren't high enough for anything else to take place..

In other news, only 25 more feet of water line has to be buried and it'll be complete, and trenching is getting easier as I've gotten in the vicinity of the largest raised bed. Less rocks, etc. out there, and the native soil is much softer there too...Anyway, it should be finished this weekend.

Also, a very special visitor will be coming over to spend some time with, and we'll cook and just have a good ol' time. :)

Cool! I love 'special visits'....but this time I'm not included! Who's coming? I can't wait.

It sounds like you are almost finished with the water line! Hopefully you will get it done this weekend.

Have a nice time with your visitor!

Robin and Ribbit - well, the visitor isn't the ex, if that's what you're thinking. Lol. The water line will be finished today, hopefully.

We've been eating some of the leftover concord grapes left on the vine as well. They are a nice treat and so healthy.

I can't wait to see who your special visitor is :)

Well, aren't you the productive one! You need chickens! You won't regret it! Just think the coop you could build!

Oh, and I'm betting Granny, since she's already on the road. What's another thousand miles?

Aw Shucks! looks like somebody beat me to ya! :o) oh well, I'll just have to be satisfied that special visitor makes you happy :o)

Grafixmuse - I find that the ones late in the season are best....

Sinfonian - a visit from Granny would certainly be a real surprise! Chickens would just be another thing to take care of, which would be too much for me right now.

Mrs. Ginny - away yeah, we'll have a good time...

I think this is my first post to your blog, but I've been reading for the last couple of weeks. I came here from another blog visitor who visited my blog (isn't that the best way to find fun blogs? Ha). I love your gardens, very inspiring. I particularly noticed this Muscadine grape entry because I just bought some (3 vines) at a garden center here to put on our property (if I ever get my gardens built). They make the best jelly, but that will be another experiment later, ha. Keep up the good work.
