Devastation

I'm currently using the WiFi connection at McDonald's to post this, because communications in my area are spotty at best. The family and I are ok - and of course Jude, too. A town 15 miles south of me was completely devastated, where 28 people so far were killed by a pretty strong twister -although not much coverage has been shown about it. People are having to drive 75 miles for the fuel to run generators with, and also basic necessities such as water and non-perishable items. Needless to say, it's complete chaos around here....Anyway, I just wanted to let my readers know that we're ok......

Thank heavens you're OK! Robin and I have been worried half to death, even doing searches on Franklin County towns...trying to track the path to see if you were in harm's way. Hugs to you, your family and Jude, I am so relieved!

Oh gee EG, I'm so sorry to hear that, but so happy to hear that you and your family are okay. I haven't heard anything about it, although the only thing we are hearing about at the moment is the Royal Wedding.

My thoughts are with you guys.

Ali.

Glad to hear that you and your family are ok! Lately there has been an abundance of strong storms. We had some strong twisters come through our area. They weren't as deadly or as destructive as the ones down there but still did some damage. Hopefully everything down your way improves.

Thanks for the update! Glad to know you are alright. I spent time on the clean up with the tornadoes here, but ours weren't a mile wide, nor did they include any deaths, thankfully. I will definitely be praying for your area.

So very glad to hear that you and your family are OK. What a terrible event. We have been watching the news and are shocked by the amount of devastation that was shown.

Thanks, everyone....The town hit by me is called Phil Campbell, and you can see some footage at http://www.whnt.com One of the biggest problems faced is fights at gas stations -as most people are in panic mode right now. Tomorrow morning, I plan on offering my services to those in need, and will take my tools with me for whatever repairs that can be made to make things better for someone. Helped a lady with a flat tire yesterday, and bought her 3 little girls something to eat. It's time for giving around here..........

So good to hear that you and your little family are fine, but the loss of lives as a result of that storm is a heartbreak.

I hope that Alabama gets the help it needs to recover quickly. Let us all know if there is anything we can do to help your family and garden!

EG, glad to hear that you and your family are OK. I starting praying for you and your family and for other friends in the path after our sirens stopped and we continued to watch the path of the storm on TV. The tornadoes in the last 3 weeks have been crazy. We have lost count how many times we have heard the sirens go off and had to head for shelter in the closet.

Many groups in our area are sending help and supplies. It is so hard taking in all the destruction but it does do my heart good to see people reaching out and helping each other.

Now we are praying that the levee will hold along the Mississippi River. We have friends who are being warned that the likelihood for a break around Greenville, MS is very high.
