eilinor - welcome, and thanks for following my blog!
Somehow I just knew that bagged leaves would be in abundance right after the New Year's Day weekend....I mean, the weather was beautiful, people were off from work for some extra days, and I was still seeing alot of unraked leaves in people's yards. Sure 'nuff, come Monday at lunch time - Boom! I filled the truck with huge bags of leaves with grass clippings mixed in. Oh....some of the bags would weigh 75 lbs, and were about 3 feet tall. Yeehaw! I'm good to go, now! Hmmm....I may have to make that 6th bin available for a batch right now, by shoveling the finished compost out and into some kind of big bags....Hehe.
In other news, the 2011 spring garden plan is taking shape, and the autocad drawing of it is almost complete. It'll be quite different from last year's, and the sweet potatoes will be tried vertically for the first time. However, I see no problems in making it work - as long as I keep the vines tied up to the trellises.
Also, the garden will be smaller this time around, amounting to only 200 sq.ft. Oh, there's a good reason for it - as i'll reveal sometime next week. You're gonna think i'm insane - but it's a sacrifice i'm willing to make.
Finally, preparations for the busy month of February will be made during the rest of this month, as things are gonna really pick up later. I mean, pruning everything in the orchard, starting around 100 tomato and pepper seeds, and all of the construction projects to boot will get kinda hectic. Oh well, at least i'll have something to keep me busy..
Take care, and happy gardening!
