I'm still here

It's been several days since anything has been posted (about 2 weeks I think), and the reason is because of my health. It seems that after performing a small miracle with the FM condition, the medication has since turned against me. Constant muscle spasms in my ankles, entire legs, back, and arms have rendered me almost helpless....It's all I can do to get in/out of my truck and drive to work each day, and once there, every step taken is accompanied by all of the muscles in my legs trembling, and as you can guess - excruciating pain. Frequently traveled distances from 2 weeks ago now take at least 5 times longer to accomplish. I can't take care of the garden, or anything else tended to in my normal daily routine. Except for my girl Jude, of course.....I'm sure most of you know that I would walk through the flames of hell just to give her the playtime expected each day, so I gingerly make my way to her pen twice a day to do just that. Anyway, tonight revealed that my right ankle is so swollen that it's doubtful that a shoe can be put on it tomorrow morning, but somehow i'll make it to work. Please do not feel sorry for me, as i'm sure it will all be worked out in the upcoming days. I just felt the need to let you know that i'm still here, but have another issue to deal with. God Bless you all, and i'll try to give an update when there's something new to share...

Oh, dear. I'm so so sorry (as if that helps). Fibromyalgia is an evil condition.

We're thinking of you

Oh no EG! I'm sorry to read about the pain you are in. Is there any way you can take some time off work so that you can rest at home until you are feeling better? I hope you feel well soon.

All the best for feeling better soon. It is hard when your body lets you down and you cant do what you want to.

Jeez EG, that sucks! If I lived closer I would sure come over and help you with chores and playing with Jude as I'm sure a lot of your readers would. Hope your Doc gets your meds straightened out soon. Take care.

I'm so sorry to hear that EG. I hope your meds get worked out soon. I always hate when I have to switch meds or go on something I haven't had before as you never know how they will affect you until you have been on them for a while.

Ugh, E.G. sorry to hear about this setback. It seems like I know several people that go through these cycles with FM and it must be so frustrating, and even when new meds are started, that in itself is a big cycle. Take care of yourself and give yourself time to rest so you can enjoy the holidays! I know, easier said than done, especially for you who likes to be out working and creating all the time! Grab a notebook and use your downtime to write down all those fantastic ideas for when you are feeling good enough to enjoy the work!

Praying for you EG. Lord please be with EG as he goes through these trials. Heal is body, remove his pain and swelling. Help the doctors to figure the cause. Help joy to abound in this trying time. Amen

I am so sorry to hear about your health. I hope the doctors can help you through this. I feel your pain in the actual pain and the pain of not being able to do what you want and love. God bless and know that your bloggers out here are thinking about you.

Good thoughts headed your way from Montgomery.

Hmm, I don't know how differently they treat FM now, but several years ago they diagnosed me with it and I was on all the normal meds and I was miserable! Not sure it was worth it. But, I really think it was a misdiagnoses because of a lot of things since then. But,I hope something starts working for you. You seemed to be a working machine before the meds... Hope you have a good doc! Prayers for you!

Gosh, thanks everyone....no need to worry though, no appendages have fallen off yet. Ha! Ouch, it even hurts to laugh.... After discussing the issue with the "quite anal nurse" at the doctor's office today, we have a new direction for the meds, and will give it a try for another week. I have missed you all, and appreciate your thoughts and prayers from so far away. It truly has made this redneck's day.

I have a friend with FM so sympathize with your ordeal. Here's a big Ohio HUG for you, EG. (And a pat on the head for the loyal, loving Jude!)

Thinking of you, EG; thought I'd take a moment to actually comment for the first time to let you know.

Take care of you.

EG, I hope the new direction for the meds works better! It is awful to not be able to get outside and putter in the yard, even with this crazy cold weather.

OK, I'll (try to) not feel sorry for you, and instead send lots of good healing vibes your way. I hope the new direction with the meds is heading in the right direction to less pain. Please take care!

Well, of course I'm going to feel sorry for you! That's just terrible for a man with your ambition to be laid up and in pain like you are. I do hope your doctor finds something to relieve your symptoms, and we get you back to 100% soon.

There is always hope for a gardener. Too many things to get you back out there. Hope you have some place warm to be right now.
