puppydog067 and Carolyn - welcome, and thanks for following my blog!
Ok, it's not much - but all I got is cucumbers again. That's ok - i'm just glad to have something! The first harvests of the summer usually happen this way - not much at first, then alot at one time. Another one was harvested later, but I didn't get it's photo.....
You can see that the blueberries and blackberries are beginning to come in also, and should go crazy in another week or two. I'll also be posting something every day this week, because there's just so much to talk about right now. Only one video will be posted - as I decided to take the camcorder outside while hunting for bugs late at night. It's pretty good!
If you'd like to share your harvest for the week, run on over to Daphne's and join in on the fun!
The temperature is supposed to get up to 97 here today, but I don't know what the heat index will be. Probably around 105-107, if I was guessing. Although it isn't a problem for the garden - it's sure rough on me and Jude! Whew!
*I also wanted to tell you that the 2nd part of the flowerbed project has been posted, and the link can be found at the right side of the page. Enjoy!
Take care, and happy gardening!
EG

I'll trade you some zucchini for some cucumbers. ;)
I can't wait for my cukes. I noticed at the old house they are starting to bloom. I hope they don't drop as some of the early ones sometimes do.
Every harvest is a good harvest!
Checked out the flower bed. It's BIG! Great to have so much space for the flowers.
Cucs are a great harvest! I am anxious for mine!!
In two weeks you'll have so much to harvest. It will be hard to keep up with!!!
Nice cukes :)
Cloudy, windy, 59 degrees, furnace running. Bah! Humbug!
Cucumbers are nothing to scoff at even at their 2nd, 3rd or 23rd harvest. Nice looking berries in blue too.
That's how summer harvests are, the come in trickling in and the the deluge!
Nice cucumbers and the berries are exciting, specially the promise of more berries to come.
Good looking cucumbers but it's the blackberries that covet!
ribbit - ok, it's a deal!
daphne - maybe yours won't drop many blooms at the beginning...
gardener - yeah, the flowerbed is a whopper!
allison - yes they are! But...i'm ready for other things now!
robin - i'm afraid of that....hopefully we can keep up with it.
granny - i'd love 59 degrees right now.....
ottawa gardener - thank you!
angela - i'm about to be covered up in blackberries!
michelle - if you like blackberries, then just wait another week. Me and Jude will probably go pick some, and i'll video it.
Nice Cucumbers. Can't wait for mine to come in. Those berries look nice too. I need to get blueberries for my little ones. They love em!
I'd be happy with any cucumbers right now! Yours look very nice. My cucumbers are the only vining warm season crop that are looking good. They are only six inches high though...
I didn't think I could get any more depressed EG...until I saw your post....our weather has been so rainy and cool that the plants seem to be barely growing...Nice Cukes you got! Can you send some of that hot weather my way? : )
I'm with Ribbit...I'd give away a zucchini for a cuke any day. In fact, I would kill for a cucumber right now. Hand pollinating those suckers was a bit tricky but I think a few took the bait.
Cukes are looking good!
ShawnAnn - thanks! Homegrown blueberries are the greatest!
Dan - i'm sure yours will be growing like crazy in a few more weeks, and you'll be making some pickles, I bet!
Susan - i'd gladly give you some warm temps right now - it's really hot!
Thomas - it must take lots of patience to hand pollinate cucumbers!
meemsnyc - thank you very much!
Nice harvest :) I don't think my cucumbers will make it, I don't like them, unless they're pickled. Nothing like the satisfaction of bringing something fresh from your garden in to eat like that though! Enjoy it! :)
