My foliage on the bottom of my yukon golds are yellowing too. Not sure why. I seriously doubt mine are ready. Yours may be, but it could be some other reason (water for instance).
Sorry about your SWC corn. Mine is growing like mad. I bet your issue is too little sun there for such a tight planting. That was my problem last year.
Ah, you're not a blueberry fan? My sons LOVE blueberries. That's why we planted 4 highbush. I'm not a huge fan, but they're growing on me.
I've heard of that about tomatoes not fruting past 95 degrees. Sure wish you could plant more. Now's the time for your second crop to kick off. Maybe you can plant in the ground?
I think I'll stay out of the South in the summer. I just melt. I envy your long growing season, but at least my tomatoes will always set. It never gets hot enough here to keep them from pollinating.
It is, brutal, isn't it. Yesterday it was 87 by 10:00 AM. I put a bucket of water outside in the shade and let the kids have at it. Our corn has seemingly stopped growing since I had to tie them together. I'm going to try to fix that today.
I do the same, last year I started with a few for sure plants and then decided to try a little something new. This year it's tomato breeds I'm trying out.
This year I have: Red and white Currant Tomatoes Rutger's CS Space Select Tomato (they're a great grand child of some seeds that ventured into space) Black Tomato Celeb. Tomato Rainbow Cherry Tomato Beefsteak Brandywine
You have some really nice fruit setting on your tomatoes. The heirlooms really can test ones patients, most take 80+ days from transplant until they are ready.
