Constructing a shed, part 2

This shed will be 8'x8'x8', and will be used for storing tools and propagation equipment in. I plan on utilizing every inch of it, with shelves on all walls - from floor to ceiling. Like I said earlier, this construction will be performed by one person (me), and I'm gonna show you the tricks I use to get it done. Here are the tools that will be used to build the stud walls with, and later will include my 2 foot level. 16d coated sinkers (nails) are the only kind to use for framing, and that's what I'm using......

Photo below - I don't have any saw horses or anything, so I just clamp boards to anything that is close by, while marking and making the cuts. This time, I clamped the board to the deck floor.

Photo below - Here's the back stud wall put together, and ready for placement. Notice the treated 2x4 at the top of the photo....this will be the bottom, and won't rot as quickly from rainfall trying to seep in under the walls. Also, I want to say that each wall is exactly the same length, and are staggered when connected. Since the building will be 8'x8', the sole plate (bottom board), and top plate are cut to a length of 92 1/2" .

Photo below - the stud walls are kinda difficult to set into place, but I use my clamps to help hold it for me - while I nail it into place. I love my clamps!

Photo below - here's the first 2 walls fastened at the corner, and i'll check for plumb once all walls are up. Since the lines were marked on the floor to indicate the exact, square placement location - the bottom is what matters most at this point.

In the picture above, notice the bottoms of these 2 walls, and how they connect. Hopefully, this will explain why each wall is 92 1/2" long. Well, gotta go get more lumber tomorrow!

Since there are so many parts to this project, i'll do a double post today.
Take care, and happy building!

It is amazing the things that can be created with a few tools. The only thing I would add to the mix is a 12" miter saw. I was lucky to buy mine on sale for $149 a while ago, the deal of the century. I really need to get some clamps like yours, I am really lacking in the clamp department.

I too am lacking in the clamp department, but that's what kids are for, hehe.

Looking great so far man, but I must say I don't get how the walls go together. You're leaving way too much for my limited imagination. hehe
