I collect the leaves every fall. People are so kind to pack them up for me and bag them in the brown compostable bags. I didn't collect enough of them though. I'm going to run out before the leaves start falling again so I've been shredding my newspapers. That helps a lot.

LOL. Rich neighborhood grass clippings. lol. You're funny! That pallet system looks great. I pass by these things all the time and I didn't even think to grab them and throw them in the truck and use them for something.

Yeah, I used almost 11 bags of leaves for my compost last year, and I barely have a barrel-full of compost this summer. Nature is amazing.

EG, I love your pallet bins!

I have two bins, but they are on their last legs and will need to be rebuilt soon. I can get pallets easily from work.

I have learned so much from you. Thank you for sharing with us.

Kalena Michele - I feel like a daytime robber, when I grab those bags of clippings! Ha!

Grafixmuse - Aw....thanks. I like it when something I do helps others.

That's going to be quite the compost operation once you expand. Your veggies will be thanking you.

I played in the compost today too. Boy don't I wish I had room to build more bins like you. I still have just the two of them. One is filled with finished compost and the other is where the magic happens. Not the optimal but I make due.

Funny you like leaves over paper. I'm the opposite. I used some finished compost today and found some dead leaves in it. Yet, the shredded newspaper is all gone in 2 weeks. /shrug. I use paper towels, tissues, shredded bills, papper and newsprint. The only cardboard I use though are paper towel rolls. Everything else gets recycled.

Oh, did I mention to be careful of other people's grass clippings? Many folks use chemicals on their lawns that can impact the chemistry of your compost something fierce. Just something to think about.

Ah, wasps, I found some of them today. Think I killed them though.

Great idea for the 2 liters... I don't have many of them but those I do I have saved for that very purpose. I don't have the nice container to keep them in though, so they're spread out all over my garage, hehe.

Great video! You can tell I'm partial to compost, hehe.

Congrats on expanding the bins. We have one bin but I would have 5 if we had the room.
