I picked half of the collards today, and they weighed in at 2lbs., 13 oz. Sorry, Granny! Hee Hee..Also, I can't wait to see how the sickly tomato plants respond to the 4 or 5 days straight of 80 degree weather. The pics next weekend should be much different. I'll post another video in the morning....

You bum! You just grow the heavy stuff...my little lettuce leaves can't compare in weight to those hurky, tougher 'n nails greens! That's OK. You go for weight, I'll go for QUALITY!!

Tougher than nails??? Hey, collards are fine eats down here! Ha!
Looks like there is lots of vitamins in those greens. I have never eaten collards, I should plant some as a fall crop. The tom's will love the high temps, I bet the gardener will too.
I made collards once. I didn't hate them, but I'm not much of a fan either. I'll stick with chard.
BTW I had my first harvest yesterday. 1/2oz of chives. So there! ;>
Dan, these things are really good, and very cold hardy..
Daphne - Yeah! You got a harvest...
You've made me hungry for some collards and smoked turkey legs :~)
Cheryl - Granny doesn't know what she's missing! Ha!
Hey, you guys quit talking about me behind my back!
Granny
Those collards look tasty!
Man, you had better do a recipe video for collards now that you've given me seeds for them. I won't plant 'em if I can't fix 'em, hehe.
Nice haul, I think. Hope they're as tasty as my home grown greens are!
Yum! Looks good. I love 'em, but hubby and kids would never eat them, so I don't bother with them. But you simmer them and put 'em in a big ole bowl with hot pepper vinegar - YUM!
