Hearing your stories, planning and projects helps me do it my way, more intuitive than thought out, but obviously soaking up information and ideas from people along the way.
I didn't get into building raised beds, for example. I just spread thick compost on the ground, partly because I am stingy and didn't want to pay Lowe's $30 per cedar board, and partly because I didn't know if my sites would be permanent. Guess what! It worked fine!
My German shepherd, Franz, enjoyed your video too, especially when you whistled at the end and he jumped up to play!
Jude is just a darling, so cute. The garden bed looks really great. do you have it fenced in so that animals don't steal your harvest? If so, how do you get into it?

Dan - shhhh! You remember how granny whipped my butt this year! I'd like to forget all about it...heh.
I can't believe how full your compost bins are! You're gonna have so much black gold for your garden next year. I, unfortunately, will have to purchase more of the commercial stuff this year. I need to set up a serious operation like yours.
Thomas - the contents of each bin will shrink by at least 75% when finished. Still, you're right - it's gonna be alot of compost. Hehe..I might not even have to make any for the following year.
Gulp, you're going to dig out a post hole between those bins! Better man than I... then again you knew that.
As one with the pile kind of bins, yours are much better but I don't have that much material. I also don't have the muscle to turn that much and don't want cold composting. Oh, and I couldn't build your mechanical turner/aerator.
Great garden addition. Boy do I wish I had your yard, or wanted to build mine in the front yard. Maybe some day.

I had to watch the video twice because I was laughing so hard at Jude the first time around I couldn't hear what you were saying.
The higher level of your garden may even make it easier to work in as you won't have to stoop down so low. Your compost bins are beautiful!
Rachel - Jude's a real stinker sometimes! She can't get enough attention, and always becomes the focal point of every video I shoot. Hehe.
